Is my card broke?

Hi guys, before I go out and spend a small fortune on a new card I thought I'd ask here!

I have an nvidia 8800gts 512mb card, t
he problem I'm having is that a few week back my screen started to get a green haze all over it, it was just on and off at first but then it came on and stayed on. I unplugged the cable at the back of the PC and tried it in the other plug on the back of the graphics card. It worked, the screen went back to normal, I just assumed it had been lose on the other plug.

Yesterday whilst playing a game my PC froze up and some of the colours in the game were distorted and there were white arrows all over my screen. I have tried the following to see if it would help-

1. Rolling back the drivers
2. Uninstalling all the drivers and putting the latest ones in
3. A system restore from two weeks back
4. Tested other games and it's the same on them
5. Virus and spyware scan...nothing found.

6. Made sure all cables were tight and that there was no dust inside the case.

Non of the above worked.

I have attached a couple of pictures so you can see what I am getting.

PS: On vista 64bit premium

Thanks in advance for any help ;)

UPDATE* Now it's doing the same and locking up with just my desktop on. At least before I could use everything else!

Hmmm thought it may, just booted up and can use everything else again!!!

Contacted the place that built my machine to see if I can claim for a new one under the warranty, on their site it says-

We choose to give customers the manufacturers warranty. Manufacturers of components give warranty on selected components for an additional 2 to 5 years.

Example:
Intel CPU's - 3 year warranty.
Maxtor hard drives - 3 year warranty.
Corsair memory - lifetime warranty.
Asus motherboards - 3 years.

To take advantage of this after the 1 year period you can raise an RMA. You will be liable for shipping the part to us and the cost of shipping the part back to you.
So hopefully I should be covered as the machine is just under two years old :)

Thanks for the reply anyway ;)
