Stupid Experience Index

Ok, so just to stay on topic, I decided to move this here.(Was in Exp. rating) I have deleted all ati drivers, including CC(which apparently you WILL install),regardless. ran driver sweeper. reinstalled ati 9.11, and that stupid index will not break 3.9! So that tells me that I'm obviously not getting the most from the card. (Radeon HD 4350 1GB DDR2) Not that I feel I need to justify my machine by that rating or anything.....nothing like that...:) Seriously though, how can I put it through its paces and test it to see if its "all it can be"?

Well, I don't know what to say. Just read a few reviews of the card. They were "mixed". Maybe that's all you can get out of it. From a $50 card you cannot expect wonders. But if it does the job you want it to do, that is all that counts. These windows ratings are somewhat flaky anyhow.

So true. Had I been paying attention, i would have noticed that it only has one DVI out as well. Anyone need a slightly used, but VERY pretty Graphics card?
OOOh...havent overclocked it yet, though. Soon as I get a new one...hehe

My card was in the same price range (Nvidea 9500GT). It gives me an index reading of 5.0 - not that I really care. I am not a gamer and for what I do it does the job.

Myself as well> But its that Index rating!! Its like a HD light constantly blinking at you! Not seriously, but I would lilke to know what the score was with the OEM card. I bought this one at the store with system thinking I was really getting a monster card. lol!

If you want a monster card, you are in for several hundred dollar. If you mean by OEM card the on-board graphics with which the PC came originally, then that's easy to check. You just have to switch the graphics in the BIOS.

No it didn't come with on board, I believe it was another Radeon, but only 512Mb. I was actually told by Dell that the card I have in here now isn't compatible with the system. I found that hard to believe. I 'm sure I could go bigger, but as you said, do I realy need it? No.I'm content in the fact that I dont need to look at a programs min. system req's before I run it! I know if its Vista Comp., it will.:)
Misunderstood, sorry. Would it still be shown in bios?

If there was a real card and not an on-board, then there is nothing you can do with the BIOS. Since you took the original card out, the BIOS cannot "see" it any more.

I thought the Experience Index concerns all aspects of the computer and not just the vid card. With my specs I get the full 5.9. Not sure if 32bit is your bottleneck to a 5.9. You have 4 gig of memory but not all of that used on a 32bit system.

The score you get on Computer > Properties shows the weakest link. But when you click on "Windows Experience Index" next to that number, you get the details for all the components like this:

I'm actually running 6GB ddr3 in a quad core x64 system. Thats what I dont get. Most ppl I talk to dont have this "issue" for lack of a better word.

This is AFTER clean install of everything...

That looks that something is definitely wrong. But you seem to have looked already everywhere.
BTW: When you changed the card, did you ever make the switch to the new card in the BIOS?

If you mean switching from PEG to PCI, yes. Is there something else?
