Hi all.......
biggrin.gif

about 5 hrs ago the ''NDA'' was lifted on certain aspects of the new GT300 or ''GF100 & GF104'' as they're officially known, by the looks of it Nvidia are gonna wipe the floor with ALL current ATI solutions..

here's what ive got for ya....... (im pretty excited
biggrin.gif
)

All (or most?) Benchmarks done at:

1920x1200, 4xAA 16xAF

AvP3 and Crysis2 can be taken with a grain of salt, since they are not finalized and drivers aren't finalized yet. DiRT2 may improve or decline slightly, depends on final drivers.

Those tests were run using a Corei7 920, 6GBs of DDR3 1333, and an Intel 64GB SSD paired with a single GF100 card. The tests were run at 1920x1200 with 4x SSAA and 16xAF. Happy? If you want more details, wait for a benchmarking site to run benchmarks like everyone else. I am spoiling you as it is. Don't bite the hand that feeds.

The GF100 card length is 10.61" (5870 equivalent)
The GF104 is going to be larger, around 5870 length (5970 equivalent)
The GF104 is the faster of the two cards.

GF100 outperforms ATi's 5870 by 46% on average
eek.gif

GF100 outperforms ATi's 5970 by 8% on average
eek.gif

The GF100 gets 148 fps in DiRT2
The GF100 gets 73 fps in Crysis2
The GF100 gets 82 fps in AvP3

*GTX misnomers removed due to Business NDA*

GF104's maximum load temperature is 55 C.

The release week of GF100 is Mar 02nd

Blackberry ordered about a million Tegra2 units for their 2011 smartphone.
Apple ordered a few million Tegra2 units for the 2011 iPhone.
Nintendo ordered several million Tegra2 units for their next gen handheld (the DS2!)

*Removed: Under business NDA*

That's all for now kiddies! See if you can guess for the time being, each - represents a letter or number

Extra spoilers!

GF100 and GF104 will feature a new 32x Anti Aliasing mode for enthusiast setups.

GF100 and GF104 can do 100% hardware based decoding for 1080p BluRay and H264 playback.

GF100 and GF104 feature full SLi capability and a new scaling method for rendering!

GF100 and GF104 will provide full on chip native C++ operation for Windows and Linux environments. This will be further augmented with CUDA and OpenCL.

GF104 will feature new technology designed for UHD OLED monitors!

GF100 promises to deliver at least 40% more performance than the GTX295 for less money. GF104 promises double that.
this info has been pulled straight from my tech forum where one of the members has been working for Nvidia since 97...... his credentials are well known, so this is probably gospel info....

pricing still cant be released under the buisness NDA plan, but upon speaking to this guy via PM he let me know the 5870 equivalent ''GF100'' will cost up to 60% less than what i payed for my 5970, so you can expect the ''GF104'' to be far cheaper than the 5970 upon launch.....
biggrin.gif

the ''GF100'' also outperforms the 5970 by 8% & THAT'S WITH A SINGLE CORE!!!
eek.gif
, the ''GF104'' WILL OBLITERATE THE 5970!!!!

he says its gonna fully be lifted in 2-3 days time, so by the looks of it Nvidia have been busy bee's producing ''show stopping'' products which are gonna be priced beautifully...

i think i can see an upgrade in my near future..... i'll update as & when.

no ...its bound to be faster than the HD5xxx range IMO, its the pricing i cant get my head around, never in the history of this great war have Nvidia released a product which was not only faster than its competitors counterpart, but actually costs less.... :sarc:

NEVER.

it would make a nice break from the norm though wouldn't it...:p

This is very interesting, but boasting about something new is surprising for Nvidia even with a private PM. Im not too sure if this will be the case unless Nvidia managed to implement that die shrink very well. Im worried about the heat and power requirements, will we all have to implement water cooling solutions in our towers to even get these beasts to startup? There is alot that I am sceptical about with this and these figures, but if Nvidia pulls it off AND makes their stuff cheaper than ATI, then this might be my next Graphics solution.

I bet what the guy meant was that they'd be cheaper to manufacture than ATI, definitely wont be cheaper I'll break my back just to eat my left nut if they are cheaper than ATI with those supposed performance increases (if they are proven to be correct).
Although Nvidia were saying that instead of implementing the die shrink what they would do to increase and compete with the performance that ATI offers would be to increase the wafer size up to 3x the size of ATI's die, which would cost considerably more for an increased size wafer, but give it the edge.
Just trust that if they do implement this when rumours spread last year about this cooling solution will be a must (and a deep pocket).

the last radeon i bought was an x1650 pro AGP slot and it fried my bios on my MSI K8 800 board. FAIL. The last 3 Nvidias I have owned the 8600 GT the 9600 GSO and now the GTS 250. I never had to turn graphics down on these cards to play any games. On all the Radeons I had I always had to turn the graphics to LOW. Radeon Fail. lmao So I agree with you as well @ archie
