Solved Nvidia Geforce 7150m / Nforce 630M screen glitches

Hi, I'm having some troubles for a while now using some programs in my laptop (HP pavilion dv2700). It never happens with videos, only pictures and windowed games. The screen becomes a lil narrower than usual, mostly black and white with some touches of purple and with vertical stripes on it. I've uploaded a screenshot of a window with the problem. I've also uploaded the dxdiag.txt file, and my graphic card is in the title. Any other info about my laptop I think is in the dxdiag, but I can only think of the graphic card as the culprit. The current version of the driver for my geforce 7150m is 179.91, I've searched the internet and all I found was some beta version of 179.48, which I obviously assumed to be earlier than my own, but maybe there's an even newer version? I checked windows update and it was last uptaded on Oct the 4th, 2009. So my guess is that maybe it wasn't installed correctly? I have no idea of what else to do, if someone could shed some light over me it would be great. I can't seem to find my version (719.91), nvidia will say I need to download it from HP and HP only offers some crazy driver for my notebook model (Select software and drivers HP Pavilion dv2807nr Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)) so I'm clueless now of what to do... I've seen this thread (http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/262301-error-blue-screen.html) which had the same graphic card but didn't really find anything I haven't tried it. And sorry about the long text, just trying to give as much info as I can. Thank you for your time.

Hi Bruno, Were you able to find a solution to this problem? I am having the same issue on a system with the same specs and haven't been able to find any clues about what could be wrong. Thanks!

Sorry to be a pain, but can you make a thread with your errors and system specs, it just makes it easier for others to help you, but personally if you're getting the same artefacts as Bruno, I can safely say that your graphics card is about to die.

@Ballygram: I didn't really do anything to fix it, but after I reformatted my comp it just stopped. So I suggest doing the same if all else fails =] Best of luck!

@MrNeeds Uh, he just said it's the same error and sam specs... Anyway, no my graphics card didn't die and is doing fine, I use it for gaming all the time, thank you very much. Have a good day ^^

G'day BrunoS3,

First of all, welcome to the Vista Forums, and I'm pleased to see that you managed to get your issue resolved.

However, it's common courtesy to let the rest of the Forum know that the issue is resolved and what you did to overcome the problem, simply by clicking on to the " ! " - Exclamation mark in the red triangle, top right corner of your page here.........

Big Tick.JPG

....and then just let the Moderators know that all is good and going - say like type "Issue fixed" or "Matter resolved" or even "All OK Now", in the box and send.

If you think that someone has given you any special advice in helping you with your problem, then for goodness sakes, give them a bit of a slap on the back and thanks with some 'Reputation' - that's a click on the Scales icon in the middle of the group....only take a minute for both actions.

So, in the final analysis, if your problem is fixed....do the right thing now, please - go back to your thread and hit that " ! ".

Hey. I'm having the EXACT same issue. I found that if I rolled back the driver to a 2006 version, the issue was fine. However, I'd like to have a more current driver, but still be able to use the program I run that causes the weird display.

Has anyone found a suitable solution for this?

Thanks.
