Will a Radeon HQ 4770 work on my system?

I have an eMachines ET1161-05 desktop and the integrated graphics leaves much to be desired. It runs Vista Basic 32 bit O.S.
Other (factory) stuff is:
Emachines MCP61PM-GM Motherboard

AMD Athlon LE-1620 processor, 2.4GHz, 1MB L2 cache
2GB DDR2 SDRAM, expandable up to 8GB
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE chipset
Integrated graphics processing
PCIe slot for graphics card upgrade
7.1-channel high-definition audio
Windows Vista SP2 OS
Includes keyboard, mouse and speakers
18xDVD±R/RW drive
160GB SATA II hard drive
I hope it does cause I've already ordered an XFX HD477AYDFC Radeon HD 4770 Video Card - 512MB DDR5, PCI Express 2.0, along with a Diablotek DA Series 500w ATX Power Supply (D15-1205).
Will these new (in transit from tiger direct) items get along well with my system?
I'm not expecting miracles, but I am expecting large improvements.

Thank you for your reply. The 4770 card and power supply installed easily. I first installed the power supply and confirmed that it was operational. Next came the graphics card. I did not have to disable the existing (onboard) graphics, The new hardware was recognized and the disc was run. I just used the basic install recommended by the disc.
One strange thing always happens when powering up the system. The screen stays black. The screen only comes to life after I move the mouse around, sometimes 20 seconds or so, other times it'll take up to a minute of mouse jiggling, but it does always come on. A minor annoyance, but one that I don't like. Anyone have a remidy?
Other than that, my new XFX card works great.

Hello stevenva,
Did you use the drivers on the disk that came with the card ?, if you did, they are probably older than you, lol.
Go to the ATI site and download the latest drivers for your card.
Link below.

Graphics Drivers & Software

You should see a further small improvement in performance.
Also, make sure you un-install the old drivers first when given the option during the install procedure.
Hope this helps, good luck.
