Hi im getting an AGP graphics card, (YES THEY STILL DO MAKE EM) and i have a 300w psu. Will 300 be enough to run the card, if not what would happen? Even if the manufacture reccomends 450w will they work on 300w? I really dont have the money to buy a psu. BUT if i do buy a new psu... is there a watt limit for the mobo it is a foxconn SIS661FX MR. I have a 300w in there now, what is the max? does anyone know?

What gpu?

Basically, if its not enough power, you'll get freezes and crashing... Gpu manmufactuers often over do theyre needed psu needs, so its quite possible it could work.

There is no limit to what a mobo can have for a psu, as the components only draw what they need. You'll just be less efficent with the power, as there is usually a higher efficiency loading point.

Youre at a spot where it might work. Your best method is to get/decide on a card.. Then look into actual real users thoughts.

ATI will probably be your best option..... but my knowledge of stores and prices aren't that great in the upside down part of the world.

What is the gfx card you are getting,
you also need to work out the draw on the other components these are
CPU
Motherboard
cd/dvd/hd`s
fans

Go to the manufacturers websites to find the wattage of each item.
