Solved Huge Vista Rating Drop!!!

Hi
I had a winFast PX8800 GT 256mb graphics card in my computer. This gave a rating of 5.2 on the Windows Vista rating system in the system information. I then installed a 1GB HD Radeon 5450 and the rating went down to 3.9.
What is the reason for this and does it mean that the graphics card is worse, even though I can't believe this.
Thanks

Hi,

Sorry about the quality of the picture but I had to stitch it together: -

As you can see there are fundamental differences between the two cards & the 8800 looks best!

Thanks, that has helped.
How can a 5 year old graphics card be better than brand new £50 one which is 1GB instead of 256MB. It doesn't make sense in my opinion.

Because of the same way a 2011 ford focus is crappier than a 1995 ferrari testarossa.

gpu memory is only good for very large screen sizes. So on a 19" screen, you won't notice a difference.

The 8800gt cards were a major leap forward. The g80 cards were good, the g92 cards were even better.

Edit ebuyer has your card for under 40 quid, and the 9800 512meg cards a 62 quid card.

Just as a point the 5450 is dx11, where the 8800 is dx9
