Solved Using another monitor with laptop

Have a second monitor that wont stay on when I plug it into the video card at the back of the laptop.. the picture from my desktop shows for about 5 seconds, laptop goes blank, then the other monitor goes blank and says "no signal" and goes into standby.

Then it's not recognized in display settings the ticked box reading "Extend the desktop to this monitor" is unchecked ..

Ideas?

When I click "Connect display" in the control panel, it says "Display Connected" so it does recognize it, just doesn't seem to come up on the other monitor..

What does it say in device manager under the monitors tab?

    Only ever used a laptop.
Also use USB Freeview TV Card

Two "Generic PnP Monitor" tabs are there

I clicked Roll Back Drivers or somethin, now second monitor is working, but only showing what my laptop does, its not en extended monitor which I was looking for in the first place. And NO monitors show up in Device manager now, also only 1 monitor show up in the mobile pc screen and add monitor thing...
