    double trouble in one row

    Hallo vista lovers and expert,

I have two problems in a row of update.

yesterday I updated IE8 to IE9 and also graphic card driver (from windows update). My graphic card is Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS.
I am using DELL XPS M1330 and using windows Vista Home Premium x32.

    here are the problems :
    1. when I log in with my username, the explorer.exe is not loaded (the desktop is blank and not loading at all).
to make it work, I have to press alt+control+del and new tast and type explorer.exe to make it load the desktop.

    2. i can not view the pictures with windows photo gallary. The picture can be open but can not see any picture. so I install and reinstall it and not working.
I can open the picture with photoshop but the picture seems to be not appear.

I updated my graphic driver to the latest one but it is still the same.

    can anyone help me please?

    thank you a lot

Welcome, lets see if a simple system restore works.
Go back a few days before the problem, began. YOu will lose IE9 and IE8 will replace it. Any other changes will be, in like fashion, be replaced.

If clean boot does not work try in safe mode, will help us diagnose if nothing else.
Make a full anti virus scan download and make a full scan with malwarebytes. Dont let the possible conincidence of intalling IE9, confuse us, anything is possible.
