werid sound...new card

well i just bought all my computer parts and put it togther today and such finaly got it all set up, i go to play a game and as soon as it starts my new

XFX radeon hd 6850 starts to make this werid screeching nose or somthing else its like a beep that is made to keep going but no beep...i believe its the card and this only happends when i play games or watch videos on netflix not youtube

any tips? dont really wanna send the card back...:cry:

if i keep playing the game the sound goes and comes...

It might be the fan. I don't know if they are replaceable on graphics cards If it where me I'd take it back.

Ik think its capacitor whine. Basically as power goes through them they buzz. You might want to think about returning it, as i've not heard ati with the issue.

i no longer hear a beep, its the sound card fan but **** it is a load one or it might be the capactior i do not know, this is my first time having a real non crappy grapics card

Those fans can be noisy especially under a full load.

Is the card designed to use two power plugs? If so and you don't have one plugged in, the mobo will emit a screeching noise. I used to have two cards in SLI and one of them died. I disconnected the dead one and the noise was unbearable.

I can confirm about the screech being a power problem. Also have a look on your mobo, there may be a molex connector or other type of connector that is required. What mobo are you using?

it takes like 2 prongs for it..4 and 4 i guess....i plug a 4 in but the other one is a 4 with a 2 connected so i ignore the the 2nd and the use the 4 for it

You need to get both connections wired. What type of PSU and MOBO do you have?
a 500 watt or greater PSU is recommended for this card.

Strange thing is that AMD doesn't specify the connection requirements on the web. I found a review which indicates that it needs two PCI 6 pin connectors.
