Solved Monitor randomly went pixelated and blurry

Hello Techies,

I have a really weird problem on my hands. Today when I logged on to browse my youtube subscriptions, I clicked a video and 20 seconds into it, my screen went shot and pixelated lines appeared and the screen went competely blurry.

I have no idea what could have caused the problem as I haven't downloaded anything or visited any random sites. My first impulse was to perform a system restore, which I attempted and after 5 attempts, after the computer restarted I would get an error box saying that an unspecified error occured and the system restore failed.

My CPU has HP 2159 Series Wide LCD Monitor on NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

I don't know if my system acquired a virus somehow but this is really a dire problem that I need fixed ASAP. I have checked my graphic drivers and they are all up to date.

The problem also persists when shutting down or starting up.

Just discovered - On bootup, a strange graphic appears where a lot of green C-shaped objects start flickering right before the windows loadup.

Update- I just downloaded the newest Nvidia Gforce driver and the problem still persists.

I don't know if this is a problem with my monitor or my CPU.

Heres a picture of the problem-

Hello JamesKK and welcome to the forums

What exactly is wrong with that screenshot? It looks fine to me, which leads me to think that the problem lies with your monitor.

Thanks, I believe you are right as my friend just teamviewed my computer and said he doesnt see a problem with my monitor either.

What could have caused this problem with my monitor though? It's a rather new one and I haven't used it for very long.

And what could I do to fix this?

Hello JamesKK,

That's great, it's relieving to know I'm not going mad!

Well, at this point the problem could either be with the cable you're using to hook up the monitor to the computer or the monitor itself. How is it connected? Have you got another monitor you could try? Have you got another cable that you could try? It's hard to say what could have caused this, but I would guess it's likely to be a manufacturing fault, unless you've damaged it in some way? Dropping it etc.

Once we've established where the problem lies, we'll be able to fix it :)
