Komt dit iemand bekend voor. Ik heb de nvidia drivers al een keer verwijderd en opnieuw geinstalleerd/ geupdated. Zou het aan de kaart zelf kunnen liggen en niet aan de software? Groetjes Bart

Hey. For a while on my Acer Aspire 7520G notebook with Nvidia Geforce 8400M G burden that my monitor goes down and comes back after a while. In the logs is the following result:

Does this sound familiar to anyone. I have the nvidia drivers already been removed and reinstalled / updated. Would the card itself can lie and not the software? Greetings Bart

Hello Bart, since i don't know dutch, I'm using English.

Not sure what you mean by it goes down then comes back, is it very quick, or like 2 minutes?

8 series nvidia cards are bad for over heating and breaking the solder connections. This could cause the error you have.

Is this a new thing in a month or 2 or old like for a year? Have you added any new programs?
What are you doing when it errors?

I'll try and help if i can, but it may be broken 8400 card.

Hello Patonb.

Yes. The screen goes black for a minute or two and it is happening for a few months now. And what you say about overheating can be the cause. I recently opened the notebook ans noticed that the fan opening was blocked. The card sensors showed that the temperature was high and after I cleaned the opening they turned at a mutch lower temperature again. So I'm afraid that it is a hardware ploblem and not a software problem. Can I replace the card in a notebook?
Thanks for the help so far.

Greetings Bart

hello Pantomb.
I did the hair dryer trick but that was no solution. I noticed that the problem happend while I was using Firefox. So I googled the problem relating to Firefox. I found this:
Solved Beware FireFox 4 crashes Nvidia drivers - Windows 7 Forums
It has someting to do with hardware acceleration that you can en/ disable. After I disabled it the problem didn't happen again so far so fingers crossed :-)
Thanks for the help
