Wireless hdmi?

Looking for someone with some info based of experience with a wireless HDMI system. I usually play games and watch movies on my TV through my laptop which is connected by a HDMI cable. I plan on moving my computer upstairs from the TV so I will no longer be able to connect with a cable but still wish to have a connection between the 2. Can someone tell me if there is a good wireless hdmi device out there for a decent price and exactly how they work? (i.e. what plugs into what) Also, how well do they work and how far apart can they be from each other? I really don't want to have to bring my laptop downstairs every time. I have a usb mouse and keyboard.

The above will give you an idea.
Test the signal between your router and laptop as to where you want to streamas a diagnostic measure. If the signal is bad then you may need to connect wired.
