Could anyone know how to run CCC?

I tried to run it but it gave me CLI.blablabla cannot be initialized or some such.. I'm now at work, I could post full message when I'm home..

Hi plato,

When I install the Catalyst drivers I do not install the Catalyst Control Center. I unchecked the free game offers, clicked the Install button from "Select Installation Operations", and then dot Custom from "Installer Welcome", and unchecked CCC from the install options leaving the rest checked. There is no need for it really for me. You can adjust all of your video settings through Vista.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: New ATI Catalyst Driver release

Well, but there is no option like setting default anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering etc. in vista as I know... I don't use CCC for resolution or gamma changes. It is for this options I want to use CCC, or ATI tray tools but both of them gave errors.

CCC gives MOM.Implementation and CLI.Implementation errors (it is about .NET I think).

ATI Tray Tools wants to install a driver when installing application, but you know about Vista x64's driver policy.. Of course it fails miserably, and it doesn't work either.

Vista x64 comes with .NET v3 but this doesn't help it seems.

BTW, there is no problem with ATI's 7.6 driver.. It works well. Only CCC creates problems.

Re: New ATI Catalyst Driver release

I have had MOM errors in the past when installing the CCC but I was able to use CCC when installing 7.4 and 7.5 (have not tried 7.6 yet). I'm not exactly sure what I did that fixed the CCC errors, but here's the process I went through: Vista with latest updates. I uninstalled the previous ATI driver using the control panel. Deleted any left over ATI folders (only did this the first time, have not bothered looking for ATI folders on subsequent driver installs). Reboot. On the boot, cancel any automatic windows driver installations and just run with the low res default screen. Start the ATI driver/CCC install and accept the defaults (except I deselected the extra games sw). Works for me in Vista 64.

I got the exact same problem as you.. I have tried 7.8 and 7.4(worked for me on x86) but always the same problem. Im going to try 7.6 but i sux not beeing able to use the newest release. As far as I have seen on ATI support page there is nothing about this problem. I got Radeon 1950XT if that's of any intrest.

Edit:
7.6 didn't work for me, but now i got another error, seems like the drivers didn't install. "No ATI graphic driver is installed, or the ATI driver is not functioning properly. Pleas install the ATI driver appropriate for your ATI hardware"..

Well, I just dont know anymore.. Befor didn't the CCC find any files and now the driver dont work insted. Anyone got an idea? cuz im all out of them!

Edit again:
Made it work with brinks way to install the drivers. I installed 7.8 just too bad I cant run CCC but the drivers work anyway. I hope someone else can learn from my trubble at least
