SLI Problem

I am trying to set up SLI on my system, but every time I enable SLI in the nvidia control panel my screen flashes a few times followed by a message to say that the display driver has crashed then a BSOD

Drivers I have tried so far

162.22
163.67
163.69

Ideas anybody?

Re: SLI Problem

I dont know if its a problem isolated to the geforce 7950gx2 but i had the same issue and it was due to my card not liking 4gb of ram. I took 1 out and tried and it worked flawlessly. You might want to give that a try and see if it helps before troubleshooting forever

The issue only came about when trying to switch to multi-gpu from multi-display. it worked fine on multi-display.

EDIT:
Damn nice specs BTW

Re: SLI Problem

Tried getting the newest drivers? I don't think that it should matter that much if your not into games. Sell one on ebay or something. My friend has a 8600GT and runs all settings on high for his games (this is overclocked). You should be fine with one. Maybe try calling them up though.

Re: SLI Problem

Try download new driver from Nvidia site that may fix the problems - I used 2xXFX Nvidia Geforce 9600GT XXX and enabled SLI (used 174.74 driver that latest one) plus used Thermaltake Toughpower 1000w PSU - that worked prefect that keep cooler and very fast run - no problems at all -- I also plugged 4-pins Molex into PCIE_12v to give more power that what it said on motherboard manual (used GA-M59SLI-S5 + Athlon 64 X2 6400+ 3.2Ghz + 4Gb RAM DDR2-800)

Re: SLI Problem

it's very very easy if you have a gigabyte ga-x38-ds5. this motherboard only supports ati crossfire......x38 only works with ati not nvidia....if you want performance have to go to ati hd 3XXX or the coming 4XXX
