Internet Secure Lock Symbol

I have a new computer with Vista and I am using Internet Explorer. My old computer (Win2000) shows a secure (encrypted) internet connection by displaying a "Lock" symbol in the status bar when visiting a secure site. My new computer does not show the "Lock" symbol. It just says "Internet Protected Mode On". I would like to see the "Lock" symbol.

Anyone know how to turn this feature ON in Vista or what I have to do to get the "Lock" symbol to display when the site is secure?

TIA

Re: Internet Secure Lock Symbol

Vista puts the "Secure Lock" symbol at the top of the screen (to the right of the address box) instead of on the status bar. I've just been looking in the wrong place. When you see the Lock, it signifies a secure (encrypted) connection. But just to be sure, before entering anything like passwords, credit card numbers, etc., click on the lock. It will verify who the site is. If it isn't who it is supposed to be, then close the internet connection and try again.
