| Newbie | Intermittent Connectivity Loss I regularly get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" pages when surfing the internet. My internet cuts off for any other programs using the connection as well. Every time it happens a tool pops up asking me to "diagnose connection problems." After identifying the problem, Windows states that the computer has limited or no connectivity and offers me 3 solutions. 1. Automatically get new IP settings for the network adapter "Local Area Network" 2. Try turning off modem, unplugging it and restarting, or 3. Reset the network adapter "Local Area Network." All three solutions work for a time But the problem keeps persisting afterwards. Some days it will only do it once or twice. Other days it does it 3 times in 30 miniutes. Usually its not a big deal, since the repair always works, but if right in the middle of DL a large file, they often come through corrupted after the restart. Any help on how to alleviate this problem permanently would help greatly. Thanks in advance. |

| NoNonsense | Re: Intermittent Connectivity Loss Could be a number of things really. Try this tutorial to being with to eliminate any settings failures: Auto Tuning - TCP/IP receive level Let us know if this helped. It could also be your router or ISP, or a combination of all. We need to route out the problem. Also..have you recently installed any AntiVirus software? |

| Newbie | Re: Intermittent Connectivity Loss Flushing the DNS Resolver Cache seemed to work well. I didn't have any problems for 2 days after doing that. I did have to do one repair late last night though. I have not installed any new antivirus software. I set the global autotuning level to high and will report back if I have any more problems. Thanks for your help. |

| Newbie | Re: Intermittent Connectivity Loss Unfortunately, the problem persists. Do you have any other ideas besides flushing DNS relover cache or setting global autotuning levl to high, please? I should note that I am running through a router, however the other computer that runs off the same router (vista 32) does not share this problem. |

| Member | Re: Intermittent Connectivity Loss Is this a wired or wireless connection? If its a wireless connection check your cordless phone. This is from personal experience. My 802g card works on the 600mhz range .. so does my cordless phone. Hence, when the phone was in use all kinds of fun things happened with the wireless connection. And then it was hell getting the connectivity back. It's just an idea. I still haven't bought a new phone! Funny, I bought a new PC before I'll buy a new phone. That's funny! I prefer to stay hard wired! =) Although it's fun to mess with my neighbors who .. refuse to lock down their wireless network. But thats a suggestion. If thats your case. |
