I have to be honest Ihave used xp for a number of years and never had any issues but the time had come to purchase a new desktop and it unfortuneatly had vista as the system, I thought well it can't be that different.
How wrong was I, I'm having all kinds of issues around the internet connection being closed by ie7, sometimes it terminates the connection for no reason and without any warning and for some reason vista is actually less user friendly than xp, hardly a step forward.
I would liken it to the iphone, the majority of functions the majority of users will never use and those that do will find a lot of "could do better" items.
When I try to access msn games through zone it tells me I am not connected and I need to connect so it routes me through "wann miniport" ? but then fails stating the server is not responding on other applications ie shuts down the connection claiming it has experienced a problem.
This new desktop was a new build by a very reputable company and I will be on the phone to them in the morning to see if they can help if not, they will be taking the new p.c. back and installing xp
The type of over fussyness just for a few geeks who like new toys has meant microsoft seem to have produced an overfussy system that show little or no benefit to the majority of it's everyday users.
Therefore after stressing the best part of the day I looked at the prozac advert and wondered... do microsoft own them?
