| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: New Realtek Ethernet Card Driver Released I switched to this driver and have had nothing but problems. My system will randomly crash/reboot every 6 to 10 hours it seems. My reason for switching to this version of the driver was the previous version would crash/reboot my machine when I used Media Center (I use my Xbox 360 as an extender to view content on the TV and play music on the audio system). Now the problem has gotten much much worse. I'm not sure if its a part of the condition, but I also installed the Zune Software (64 bit version) around the same time. Vista was reporting the RTL Driver as the cause of these problems, and since upgrading windows now reports the RTL Driver and an error with my motherboards ACPI (or is it APCI? I don't remember, I'm at work, can't remember the error message) driver. I have a spare MoBo (Gigabyte) I'm going to try putting in there, just don't really want to go thru all that hassle of re-installing everything... I really should make some base line images for each MoBo. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: New Realtek Ethernet Card Driver Released Hi Timbermar, You might try running the setup program again to make sure it installed completely. If you need to, you can just go into Device Manager from within the Control Panel (Classic View) and uninstall the driver. There should be no need to switch motherboards unless you just want to. In the Device Manager, double click on the network device to open it's Properties. Click on the Driver tab and click Uninstall. Shawn |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: New Realtek Ethernet Card Driver Released I'll give it a shot, but I already tried removing it from the installer and then running the installer again and installing it. However, looking back, I did install the Zune Software at about the same time, so the other issues may not actually be associated with the Realtek driver. I was having that issue with MC before I upgraded however, and the new driver has not resolved that issue. I'll report back with my findings. |
