64bit Vista wireless network problems

Hey,

I think i posted my original topic in the wrong place here... here it is again:

I had a belkin PCI card installed in my computer that was picking up my wireless connection ok (around 2 bars), i managed to snap the ariel of the back of the card (oops) and it wasn't one where you can screww on new ariels. So i have bought a new pci card (MSI PC70SE) and now when ever I try to connect to my network i get local only. some times i get local and internet, but even then the internet doesn't work. I've taken a screen shot of the "Network Connection Details" (it's attached). I've diabled the ip6 thing but that hasn't helped. I have no i dea why i can't get the net on my pc! I'm using a pc now that's connected to my router via ethernet and i can get on live etc on my xbx360 via the wireless connection, so the problem has to be the MSI card.

I've tried updating the firmware on my Belkin router, but it's up-to-date and there's no news of any new vista compatable release of firmware.

When this was happening to me after adding a x64 Vista machine to an existing modem/router config I had been using for years - the final solution was simply to do a physical reset of the router, restart the modem, and run the web-based router setup again...

....and just like that, gone forever was the "local only" issue. I spent so many hours looking up all the possible causes (firmware updates, incompatibility with older networking equipment, manually setting the network, disabling IPv6, etc.) and was very close to replacing all the hardware - then something this simple actually fixed it.

Can you "see" your router under the "Network" tab?

Go to microsoft update, try to look for an update there.

U can also go to Belkin : Support for U Belkin wireles adapter and try to Uppdate it. I gues the Belin is the best of yours wireles adapters.
