Wierd issue with my 'favorites'

Hi guys, my favorites tab in internet explorer is doing this wierd thing where it shows basically my entire c: drive on the drop down, as you can see in the attachment, my computer, control panel and network are all in there and it really annoying, funnily enough, the print screen i just saved was added in favorites at the bottom of my user file 'jamie'.

As a side note ive noted that the problem started when I was trying to change my favorites location and I clicked the 'move' button in the location tab. im not sure whether i changed the location of the desktop or the favorites.

Have been trying to fix this all night and i have run out of ideas. Any help would
be very much apprciated.

Cheers guys, Jamie.

EDIT: I also noticed that whenever I add a new site as a favorite, it saves on the desktop...

Did you allow the copy to overwrite or merge the existing file(s)?
You may be able to "fix" it using the list below.
  1. Click the "Start Orb"
  2. Right-click on <"your folder">, then select "Properties"
  3. Click the "Location" tab
  4. Click the "Move..." button
  5. In the "Select a Destination" window, browse into the folder <"your folder">. The destination folder should preferably NOT be a drive root folder.
  6. Click "Select Folder"
  7. Click "Apply"
  8. Wait for Windows to move the existing contents (if any) of the previous location. If you get any messages that a file exists in the destination (such as "desktop.ini", etc), allow the copy to overwrite the existing file. (don't allow overwrite; you want separate files)
  9. When the move is complete, click "OK" and restart.
This technique will also work for the following user profile "folders":
  • Contacts
  • Desktop
  • Documents
  • Downloads
  • Favourites
  • Links
  • Music
  • Pictures
  • Saved Games
  • Searches
  • Videos
Special thanks to Dzomlija for the above step by step.

Let us know.

Later Ted
