| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Network Locations I am using Vista Home Premium and connect to the Internet via a 3G modem as we have no telephone here in Spain where we live. The conne3ction is good and gives me no serious problems. I have one question to ask regarding Network Locations. Each time I connect to the Internet it creates another Network Location. At the moment it has reached 113. I found this whilst hovering my mouse over the Network Icon and looking in the Network and Sharing Centre/Customise/Merge or delete locations. Now this is not causing any problems with my connection but I think there must besome means of stopping this happening and filling up the space rapidly in that folder. Can anyone advise on this please, or is it normal and I should leave well alone? |

| windows vista ultimate | Re: Network Locations Hi Kathandbrian, You get the Network Location request is beacuse you said you use a 3G Modem to connect to internet. So everytime you connect to internet your ISP assigns you with different IP address & address Classes. So vista thinks that this is a new network and askes you to Save the network location. You can either request your ISP to give you a Static Ip address which i dont think they would do or you can stop THe Network Location thing poping up by doing some modifictions check the following link to do so. Set Vista Network Location Category Script Code Hope this Helps Cheers !! |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Network Locations Thanks john_cena, I think I will leave well alone. I understand your explanation which was good. I have stopped the pop up window asking if I want to allocate it to Private or Public. Perhaps that is enough. Many thanks! |
