Wake Up On LAN Settings

Tried googling this but can't find info I understand. "How to speed up VISTA". got me going on this. Can anyone tell me what "Wake on Direct Packet and Wake on Magic Packet" is? Got these checked in my Network Adapater Power Management settings under Wake Up On Lan. Do these need to stay enabled?

Re: Wake Up On LAN Settings

Hi HDB,

Wake on DP and MP are just differemt types of WOL methods, they dont affect Vista Performance.

We have a guide on Vista Perfoamance here: Speed Up the Performance of Vista

Re: Wake Up On LAN Settings

Hi HDB,

In addition to Steven's post. The Wake Up on LAN options allow your network device to wakeup your computer from sleep mode if you receive incoming traffic.
