Vista fails to accept screen resolution change

I have Vista Business. The problem is that the screen resolution resets itself after a restart. When it comes up, the resolution is 1400x1050, which makes the font tiny. I reset to 1024x768, apply it, and things are fine until the next day when the computer is restarted. Any ideas?

First, welcome to the forum.

Is this your personal computer or a computer at work? Is the resolution the only thing you notice that has changed or are other settings changed as well like folder views? Do you have to save your files, assuming this is a computer at work, to a network drive (aka the K drive in some instances)? If your answer is yes to those questions, then I think that the administrator of the computers has it set up to erase any and every personal setting on the computer except what the user places in his personal network drive.

Hi,
When you change the screen resolution do you receive the verification window asking you if you want to keep the resolution?

Thanks for the replies. This is a business computer. I think the IT guy tried to set it up as an administrator for the user and it still failed.
It does come up with the box to accept the change within 15 seconds. I did not try to log in as another user. I will try that, also. If all else fails, the font change can be made quickly.
