Vista - Cant connect Gtalk

Hello, i'm a new user of Windows Vista, I upgraded it from Windows XP and now I cant connect GTalk or Jabber chats. They says: "Can not open sockets". That happens too when I try to update Nod32 antivirus. Anyone can help me?Thanks

You need to uninstall these programs, download the latest versions and then re-install them before they work again....

Hello ... thanks for your time and your answer.
I downloaded the last version of Gtalk for windows vista and still doesn't work, I downloaded Gtalk version for WinVista 64 and nothing... with Nod32 antivirus is the same thing... I think the problem is about any software, like windows firewall or something like that, because the Network and Sharing Center shows connection between my PC and proxy is OK, but connection between proxy and internet is marked with "X". I checked all services and it seems to be OK, I turn off the firewall and I can't connect that softwares: Gtalk, JAJC chat and NOD32. They says the same: Cant open sockets.

I'm thinking in reinstall Windows Vista.... But that is too sad.....

What happens if you reset winsock ?
Either from nod (In Network configuration changes, click on repair now).
Or from an elevated comman prompt (CMD run as administrator)
Type: netsh winsock reset
Then Enter
Reboot your computer. (for both solutions)

SOLUTION: reinstall Windows and that is what I did.... now, it works OK.. jejeje!! until now!

Reinstalling is not a solution its just a temporary fix
