| Vista x86 Business | Network Connection failure when browsing the network Hi all, I am running Vista x86 Business edition andhave a rater irritating problem with the network. Every time I try to browse the Network folder from within Vista, it seems to reset that LAN connection to all machines on the network. It only seems to happen when I try to access the network though, I have not experienced this problem anywhere else. It is also worth noting that browsing the vista shares from another PC on the LAN works fine. I read up on what this guy did ( Random disconnects while browsing - Microsoft Windows Vista Community Forums - Vistaheads ) and disabled TCP/IP 6 and TCP autotuning but am still getting the problem. I have a feeling that it may be something to do with our old(ish) Belkin router; however, according to the Internet Connectivity Evaluation Tool from MS, my router is all set to go with Vistas new networking features. Anyway, sorry for the long post, any help would be most appreciated! Thanks in advance drummerboof |

| Vista x64 Ultimate | Re: Network Connection failure when browsing the network What are you connecting at 1 Gbps? Are you using CAT 5, 5e or 6? Do you have the latest drivers for your NIC? How many computers are connected? |

| Vista x86 Business | Re: Network Connection failure when browsing the network Hi Guys, Thanks for the welcome and replies ![]() Sidney - I tried resetting the TCP/IP and although the command completed successfully, it did not solve my problem. Michael - I am connecting at 100Mbps using CAT5e and I am pretty sure that I have the latest drivers for my NIC. My Network adapter is an onboard NVIDIA adapter and Vista thinks the drivers are up to date. It is a fairly clean install (a few days old). My router is a Belkin F5D7630-4A. Thank you again for any help. drummerboof |
