Re: 0x80070052 error

Hi, princess, and Welcome to the forums.

I did some research and found out that this occurs most likely on devices that are not correctly formatted. So, before we move forward with an answer, we need some *specific* answers from you.

1) Are you copying the files directly to your MP3 player, or to a memory card that fits in your MP3 player?

2) Are there any songs already on the player?

3) What program are you using to copy the files?

4) Is this the first time you have tried this, or has it worked in the past?

Hope to hear from ya soon.

Re: 0x80070052 error

hi john, i'm not sure how, but somehow i got 122 songs on the mp player, when i go to add more i get the error message. let me see if i can answer your questions in order:
1. directly onto the player
2. 122 songs on it. again i don't know how
3. best buy music store
4. the player is new. and so is this computer (i had windows 98 and was very happy, they don't update that anymore so i was forced to buy vista and i heard and am experiencing nothing but incompatible problems)

and i thank you for your help.

i am not too computer savy but i do know a little

Hi Princess,

I am afraid that you should format your player.
Try first to save your songs

OK, what player do you have, and how are you copying the files to your player? Knowing that I might be able to find a detailed step by step on how to format your player.

Re: 0x80070052 error

it's an insignia kix usb mp3 player 2 gb
( no cable required )
and from reading the box i think it's special to best buy

the music gets downloaded on something called best buy digital music store. we download to our computer then transfer directly to the mp3 player

Re: 0x80070052 error

Hmmm, I suppose then that you just plug the player directly to your computer?

Re: 0x80070052 error

You should be able to easily format the device then, as when you connect it to your computer, it should show up in Windows Explorer as a particular Drive (F:, h:, l:, etc. whichever drive letter you have available).

In order to be safe, open Windows Explorer, (Double click on Computer on your desktop, or else click on Start --> Computer) and then right click on the drive letter that is your MP3 player and then select Format. You should get a box that looks the below.

See the Highlight above? Make sure that is selected as FAT32 - not FAT (default) and not NTFS - leave anything else that is there as it is - uncheck quick format - and click Start.
