PortFowarding in Vista

I am downloading torrents . My speed is slow because ports are not open .

I've tried everything below:

How do i open ports on vista?

On xp i do the following process

static ip under the internet connections

goto router enter ip and port .... port will open (port forwarding) and btw i'm running avg also

Now on vista i do the same thing... does nt work.... how ... help!!!!!!

I have running , windows firewall , ICS , my router, avg 8.0,avast and also disabled ipv6
(uttorrent is even added in windows firewall exception list and added the ports for tcp and udp)

i hve tried EVERYTHING!!!

HELP!!!! (plz give details on how to open the ports )

the firewall in your router is blocking it.
i had the same thing happen and turned
off the firewall in the router settings. my
speed when up and the port is open.

Hi, skallz, and welcome to the forums.

Actually not a good idea to disable the firewall on your router, particularly if you have more than one computer on the network sharing the connection.

Have you contacted your Router's manufacturer to get some help on how to allow port forwarding through the router?
