| Vista Ultimate x64 MAK, OpenSolaris 5, Gentoo 2008.1.... | Re: Vista connection problem Hi, Xeonophon, and welcome to the forums. Michael is correct, you should verify that you don't have any devices in Device Manager that are missing drivers, and you should make sure that they are all the latest drivers. Also, knowing *what* OS you have as well as your computer model # (or if you built it yourself, the parts model numbers) as well. Also, have you tried a different cable? |

Is it locking up on boot with only one HD installed? You should probably perform hardware diagnostics on all your HDs and your memory.... |

| Vista 64 | Re: Vista connection problem I may be able to help. My Vista 64 went into hibernation after I forgot to turn off this feature after a recent install. When I woke it the PC would no longer connect to the Internet. Nothing I did would fix it so I reluctantly reinstalled Vista. Still no Internet Connection. Three times I tried to reinstall and still no go. Then it occurred to me. What if Vista had instructed the NIC to stay in hibernation and the NIC retained that instruction from the previous install? So I depowered the unit and made sure that there was no residual power. The next time I booted bingo Internet was back like it had never left. Try this and let me know how you get on I would be interested to see if I didnt just fluke it. |
