Vista - Atheros AR5007EG Problems in Vista 32bit

Hi there.

I am currently having some difficulties with my atheros AR5007EG wireless network adapter. I recently bought a Fugitsu-Seimens Amilo 1718 with xp preinstalled. my card worked fine with it but when I decided to uprgade xp to vista, my card started displaying some problems. After several hours of searching I found the correct vista drivers and after installing them It is displayed as "working correctly" in device manager and in the properties tab. despite this, I cannot connect to any network using it!

Any suggestions?

have you made sure that all your settings are correct? Can you see the wireless connection at all? Have you rebooted after installing the Vista drivers?

It is possible that remnants of the old drivers may still be haunting your machine, in that the old drivers might have tried to do something stupid, like adjust your TCP/IP settings, or set up the NIC to not use DHCP....

Hi there thanks everyone but I've managed to solve my problem.
When I deleted my xp installation, I deleted all of the programmes installed on my laptop.
This includes the launch manager that f-s supplied. because of this the wireless button was automatically set to off. after installing the launch manager again form f-s website, my wireless card runs perfectly now.
