hello, im using a Toshiba Satellite U300 laptop with Vista Home.
im connected in a LAN through a router with 1 other computer (main)
im hooked up with a wired connection and a wired router.
my internet works just fine for however long im active for. then (now i havent timed it) but for a certain period of inactivity..my internet disconnects. now in order to reconnect to my network, i either have to unplug my network cable for about a minute or restart my computer. im pretty new to Vista so i dont really know my way around it much. this problem does not occur on our other computer but it does on my laptop. i originally thought it was my router but im thinking otherwise now because it only happens on mine. can anyone help me out?
thanks in advance

Hi Colin and welcome to the Vista forums!

Go in devices manager (devmgmt.msc), open the properties window of your network card, then in the power management tab, do not allow the computer to switch off your network card (untick the option)
