| Vista Ultimate 32bit | Shared networks in Vista? Hi everybody, Basically my family has been trying to set up a shared network so we can all print to our laserjet, etc. Everybody else in the house is on variations of Windows XP (1 XP pro, 2 XP home, 1 XP MCE) except me (Vista Ultimate) We're all running the free version of Comodo Firewall. Basically, we've managed to set the computers up so far that they can all be accessed by everyone else, except mine. I can see and access every computer on the network, but nobody else can see mine. As far as I can see, i have turned on discovery in the Network and Sharing Center, and the only things currently turned off are sharing printers (because i don't have one set up on the system) and sharing media (because apparently i'm on a public network) Would these contribute to the fact that my computer is invisible? To confirm my question, how do i set up my computer to be available to the other computers? Thanks for your time, nabxf |

| Vista Ultimate 32bit | Re: Shared networks in Vista? ok thanks, but i've tried making the network private before, because vista notified me of its public status. Thing is, even after changing to private, it still shows up as public when i exit the settings. any ideas? thank you for that link to the software, i'll try installing that. |
