Vista - Bandwidth usage lags computer.

Hey everyone, i have a problem. i've searched for the answer but i've came up w/nothing. Here goes.

When i'm using my full amount of bandwidth, my mouse lags, alot, and my 2nd core continually stays at 100 percent. it slows everything down. very strange. any help?

like if i'm loading up a large flash video, or if i'm downloading a movie or something, and using the max amount of bandwidth, which my connection is a 5 mbps connection. just now i loaded up a flash game, and while the loading screen was going, my mouse lagged and my scroll bar was jerky. my 2nd core always shoots up to 100 percent, but core 1 stays at around 50.

i have a hp pavilion dv6000
amd turion 64 tl- 60 2.0ghz
2 gb ram

what sorts of processes are running when you're downloading? It is possible that your antivirus / antimalware programs or firewall are killing the CPU...I mean, if you know your CPU usage is at 100% then yo should knwo *what* is using your CPU....

i restarted, it might've fixed it. last month i noticed this happening, it was a process called SYSTEM that was causing it. when my internet would kick into high gear, it would jump up to about 80-90 percent usage. now, when it happened this time, the cpu was reading 100 percent, but task manager was showing the processes just running about 17 percent.

Then you better start running numerous antimalware scans on that machine - ASAP.
