How to stop IE7 to show your files directory?

Hi

Is there any way to disable Internet Explorer from showing your file directory you browsed in Windows Explorer ? I don't want to see my files directory in IE7 address bar. I use Vista U x64.

Thanks in advance,

Sigh.

Ted, the OP is asking how to separate *internet Explorer's* and *Windows Explorer's* history. Notice - IE is showing local files....

moha, sorry, this has been asked here in the forums before, but no there is no way to do that. They are unfortunately integrated.

Well, I take that back - you can always remove *the entire* history by clearing it in IE - of course that removes both local files and Internet history....

Re: How to stop IE7 to show your files directory?

yes that do work, but I love to keep history for longer time so I can access easily to previous websites.

I can clear windows explorer entries manually but in fact, if new local directory listed in IE it will be replaced with another IE address and it keep clearing my IE websites addresses.

in registry go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs and delete unwanted urls.

unfortunately, it seems I'll have to do this manually everyday.
