DHCP Client not starting

New Member
Have no internet connection either wired or wireless.
Other computers on network have no issues with connection.
When I go to connection icon in taskbar I see the following:
connection status: Unknown
The dependency sevice or group failed to start
When I check the services I see that the DHCP Client is listed as starting, but it never actually starts.
When I attempt to check the logs in Admin tools they won't open either.
I saw in another thread in this forum that some people have solved this with sfc /scannow but when I try that I get "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations".
Any other suggestions....???

Hi, n4syth, and welcome to the forums.

Have you performed any service tweaking? It is possible that the DHCP client is not starting because of the fact that a service that *it* needs to have running in order to start is actually not running....
