| Vista Ultimate x86 and x64 and Home Premium x86 | Cannot obtain IP from Router's DHCP I have a new Vista PC (SP1) connected to a Draytek Vigor 2600gi (with the last available firmware). When I set the IP address to static, I can ping the router, edit the settings etc. However, if I set the IP to obtain automatically, the adapter gets assigned a 169.254.x.x address. DHCP on the router IS working - if I connect a Windows XP PC to it, it gets given an IP with no problems. I have tried disabling IPv6, and I have tried booting in Safe Mode with Networking - neither worked. I have removed Norton Internet Security which was installed as a trial. I have uninstalled the driver for the Ethernet Adapter and rebooted to let Windows reinstall it, and I haev since installed the latest Vista compatible driver from the manufacturer. None of these are working. Please help! |
