Cannot Connect to the Internet

Greetings,

I am currently having issues with my installation of my Vista 64 Ultimate. I had no problems for either Vista 32 or my Windows XP Professional. The reason I was installing the 64 bit was to utilize the 4 gb of ram I have installed. This is the system I currently have.

Asus A8N-SLI Premium Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 x2 4800+ (Toledo)
4 gb ram PC3200 DDR/Dual Channel
Windows Vista 64

I get an unidentified network from my PC
and a red "x" between my unidentified network and internet.

I am fairly new to this so any help or whatever more information would be needed, I will try to provide.

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Re: Cannot Connect to the Internet

Have you right clicked on the network icon and clicked diagnose and repair.

Re: Cannot Connect to the Internet

yes, even tried resetting the connection, after trying the cable, resetting the modem and router. Now is says it tried to repair the problem but a problem still exists, says I have local connection to network and no internet connection. I am figuring that it has to be a driver problem, since it works just fine when using the 32 bit Vista or XP Professional. One time it said it was connected to the interent, but would not open a webpage.

Re: Cannot Connect to the Internet

What type of router do you have. Your router could be blocking the MAC address for that computer.

Re: Cannot Connect to the Internet

Have you plug the cable in and restarted your computer and see if it worked.

Re: Cannot Connect to the Internet

in my device manager it shows 5 items that are missing drivers:

Multimedia Audio Controller (2)
RAID Controller
Unknown Device (2)

Says my network adapters are working just fine.

If this will help at all
