Hello, for the past few weeks i have been having a problem attempting to remotely connect my windows and my mac Via:

VNC/TightVNC : On the Vista

Remote Desktop Connection Client 2.0 Beta: Mac OS X 10.5.4 (Leopard)

I have read in many a forums that it is possible to remotely connect from windows to mac and vise versa. I have been trying to use the RDC Client 2.0 on Mac to connect to my windows vista home premium but for some reason my PC is not allowing it to connect. I have gone to the Remote settings on my PC and Checked the box "Allow Remote Assistance Connections to this computer". I also attempted to allow the Remote Desktop program from my Windows Firewall but for some reason its not on the list. I have been searching all over the net for a solution on how to get my Mac to connect to my Windows Remotely but i just cant get it to work.

When i attempt to using the RDC Client 2.0 beta it gives me an error message reading:

"This problem can occur if:
-The Windows-based computer is not set up to accept remote connectios.
-The Windows based computer is not turned on.
-The Mac, or the Windows-based computer is not experiencing network problems."

I am completely out of Ideas. I have PINGed my Mac IP on my PC and it picked it up and vise versa, so for some odd reason its not allowing my mac to connect. Something on the Vista is not allowing the program to work properly. Im not sure if it could be that i am missing an option on the windows to check off and/or adjust, or if its something to do with my Router ( Belkin N1 Wireless Router .) Does anyone have any ideas or solutions? Anything would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Wow i cant believe i looked over that. I quess i immediately assumed it would be compatible since it IS a vista OS. Its pretty dumb that it would support all these OLDDDDer versions but not the most common Vista OS, Home Premium.

So so sad. Thank you so much Sidewinder. I appreciate you taking the time. I will now attempt to install one of the other Vista OS or XP.
