how's it possible that Vista hangs if the network stutters.

1) The year is 2008 and we have Vista..
Vista still hangs if I'm copying to a network share and the drive goes offline or I'm registering some service online and the network stutters and my desktop becomes unresponsive until the network stutter is resolved.

how on earth could this still be happening in Vista.. I'm so disappointed in MS not being able to fix this. Can some one start to make an OS that'll run my windows apps other then MS please :)

2) I've got 4GBs of RAM and I usually have shed loads of apps open during work and late in the afternoon I play a game for like 20 min every day. If I don't quit all my applications I'll for sure get thrown to the desktop in the middle of a frag fest because something stole focus.. For CRYING out loud MS!?! This is pathetic. I've searched the web for a fix like PowerTools for XP to no avail

If any one has a rememdy for either one of my issues here they should get hired by MS :)

Hi Simon,

Have a look at the following Tutorial Folder Options at 'Step Two'. Referring to the 3rd image in this section, check that the option 'Launch folder windows in a separate process' is checked (ticked). This should prevent misbehaving applications from causing the system to freeze.

P.S. You're not related to 'The Saint' are you? This was a 1970s British TV series where the lead character, Simon Templar, was known as 'The Saint'
