| Vista Home Premium 32bit | getting really fustrated Hello everyone , I have a Asus pro80 series laptop with Vista 32 bit. I connect using the ethernet Lan . Uptil about one month ago averything was fine. Since then my Connection after about 10 to 20 minutes slows right down until it stops. It dosn't actually disconnect from my provider .. it just stops. If I dis-connect and re-connect then it will work again for a while. Then stops. What I have tried so far : Updated the drivers for the realtek ethernet . Reinstalled Vista Installed the vista service pack 1 Checked power settings for the ethernet card Other info : I know that the connection its self is ok as i use the same cable for my works laptop without any problem . Hardware manager says all is running correctly Changing user has no impact . Any ideas anyone ? Would be really appreciated, as i am about to chuck the thing in the bin . Scala |

| Vista Business/Home Premium/Ultimate x64/Server 2008 X64 | Re: getting really fustrated scala: Welcome to the forums. I would run a hardware diagnostic with several different programs, but I suggest you download, burn a disk and run both "memtest86" and "Hirens". It really sounds like a hardware issue. Hope you still got a warranty. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: getting really fustrated understand , but would this happen "out of the blue" .... I have had the laptop and the vista for over a year now. One thing that I did remember is that around the sametime that this started , I had bought a wireless USB "Web N Walk" stick from T-online for when i am travelling. It does not connect via my usual home provider but via T - online , but maybe this is just a coincidence Scala |

| Vista Ultimate SP1 32bit | Re: getting really fustrated oh, something to add, i have noticed that the windows updates come through regardless of (heh, read in spite of) user settings, and have seen updates hose some previously working apps. Office 2007 didnt like a recent update, and went from working fine to 'Not installed for this user' was how i discovered this problem. |
