| vista | Fails to detect internet connection I have an issue connecting to the internet. 1. The Vista computer will detect the router and connect to the network. 2. I have a second vista computer on the network that gets to the internet perfectly. 3. I can ping the router... It's DNS... the gateway... everything but the computer will not connect to the internet. 4. All the connection settings are set to automatic. 4.b If I try to force the DNS address it refuses to let me put it in. Constantly says invalid address although it's a proper IP address. I'm at a loss for ideas. Does anybody know of anything else. I'm close to reinstalling the entire system as I spent a whole evening trying to figure this out. Thanks! |
