| Vista Business | Connect to network but not internet Hi We bought a new dlink Gigabyte unmanaged switch,installed it and now the vista machines connects fine to the network but not to the internet. if i go ipconfig /release and /renew it works for a bit but then goes down again. The Windows XP machines are working perfect to the network and internet. What Can cause this problem with vista. Thanks |

| Vista Business | Re: Connect to network but not internet Yes. It was working fine when they where on the 10/100 switch. It only happened after I changed the switch to 10/100/1000. It is a unmananged switch so it does not need configuring |

| vista64 | Re: Connect to network but not internet I'd swear it sounds like your gateway or some other IP setting was wrong... if you're certain it's correct, my next guess would be Jumbo frames - which can bewilder some routers. Are Jumbo frames on/off? |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Connect to network but not internet May not work for everyone, but I had the problem of connection to the network (over ethernet) but no internet connectivity on a brand new box I built for my son. Setting a static IP on the offending machine did the trick. PC Spec. Q6600 Asus P5Q-C 4GB ram Vista HP x64 Router is a Speedtouch 585 v6 running 6.1.4.3 firmware |
