| MS Vista 32 bit | Re: MS Home network Vista to XP Pro Problem Solved Two XP computers can see each other and also see the Laptop running Vista but can not get to files on the Laptop. The Laptop can not see any computer on the net work. We went to the router and checked and said the Laptop was not active. Nothing on how to make it active. Went back to computers and tried to re do network and found that the main XP computer was also named laptop. I figured that when I made the network disk for the network on the laptop and loaded it to the Main XP computer, That some how it renamed it to Laptop. So we changed the XP back to it's original name and now everthing works as it should. I spent the better part of 30 days trying to figure this one out and still don't know what cured the problemt. We hope explaines the problem to those that ask. Thanks carldo. Last edited by carldo; 02-05-2009 at 10:41 PM.. Reason: correcting double words, |

| Windows XP Home | Re: MS Home network Vista to XP Pro But, why did you remove the post. The forums here help many people, and someone may experience the same problem that you had. If you had left the description of your problem, and posted your solution, then it would be there for other people to read when they have the same problem. By removing your post, no-one will know what your problem was, or how it was solved, and therefore may be unable to solve the same problem in future. |

| MS Vista 32 bit | Re: MS Home network Vista to XP Pro You know what, it really doesn't matter. I posted the problem and got no responce, not even one. But my screw up brought me many replys. Ok, so I screw up. What more can I say, I did repost but it doesn't appear to satisfy some people. I still don't think Vista is all that it should be. |
