Windows vista crash when downloading large files

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my windows vista (ultimate x64).
It crashes in BSoD every time I try to download one or more large files at once (>=100Mb), or when I surf on many internet pages at once (e.g. when I start Opera and it opens 10 tabs simultaneously).

Anyone has the same problem/a solution please? That would be so great.

I hope it's not due to my hardware, since it's a new computer, but I had another o/s before (XP) on the same computer, and it didn't crash.

I hope you guys can save me =)

Greetz,
itlar

Hello itlar,

Please go to your User CP and enter in all your system's specs; in as much detail as you can.

Have you done any tweaking to the machine?

I take it you built the machine yourself? Have you run any benches to check stability? What were the results?

Go here and dl the memtest86 iso: Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic

If you don't have something to burn it with, then use this: The Official ImgBurn Website

Also dl Orthos: Download Stress Prime 2004 BETA

Make a bootable cd of memtest. Keep the cd in the machine and reboot. Tap the delete key and enter the bios. In the bios' advanced options, make the cd drive the first boot device. Save your changes and exit the bios. Let memtest run for 8 hours.

Come back, report, then we'll move on to Orthos.
