Vista - Cisco VPN for x64

hi there, my work allows me to vpn in from home to remotely access my network files. unfortunately the cisco vpn software we have available to us does not install on 64 bit systems... and i've also heard does not even work on any version of vista. does anyone out there have a different solution?

EDIT: You may consider setting up VM to run your Cisco VPN in a 32 bit environment.

what if im running vista home premium x64, can I still run virtual pc?
anyone had experiences?

I use the Cisco Anywhere VPN x64 on Vista x64 Ultimate with no problem.

Cisco AnyConnect will work on Vista x64, but this edition supports only SSL connections, and not IPSec, as I guess you are using (or want to be using).

Currently, there are only two options:

1. Using a virtual machine (recommend VMWare Workstation or Virtual PC) running a 32-bit guest OS (f.ex. Windows XP) , and install the Cisco VPN Client inside this.
2. Buy NCP Universal VPN Client. This tool even can import your existing Cisco connections (.pcf files found in the installation folder on a computer running Cisco VPN Client). For more information, visit http://www.ncp-e.com/en.html.

I have tested both these scenarios, and must say I prefer no 2. Only downside is that you need to pay up (or your manager any way)...

Cisco states its as secure as IP Sec.

im trying out the NCP option right now, and its awesome. the only problem like mentioned before is the price. I use it for college and I highly doubt my college will pay for it but I will try. anyone happens to know where I can get it for free
