Vista - XP machine can't access vista USB HD over network

XP machine can't access vista USB-Hard Drive over network

I have an external USB HD connected to my vista desktop. I have a wired network that has XP machines connected to the network. My problem the XP machines can't access the HD connected to the vista machine.
