| Vista Home Premium x64 | Sharing a WiFi with ICS over a wireless router? OK, here's the situation: On a boat - no hardwire in. Previously had XP machine running ICS and ad-hoc to share connex (WiFI, cell network, whatever I could find would be available to the network). Now using Vista 64, and the ad-hoc is a PITA (have to manually connect at each bootup). So I'm thinking... If I take the WiFi in to the main computer, then take the LAN out to a wireless router with a crossover cable, disable DHCP and assign IP's (so, kind of a hub), shouldn't I be able to have a sort of ICS access-point thingamabob? Anyone done this, or heard of this, or think it would/wouldn't work? Thx, clamazon |
