| x64 | can't access system icons using Vista X64, new laptop, I can get to the notifiction area but it will not allow me to tick off the system icons except the clock.  |

You could try right clicking the Start orb, select Properties, click the Notification Area tab. Tick Hide inactive icons box , click Customise and click items to activate the drop down box and select what you want them to do . Then click OK.  Hope it helps SIW2 |

| Vista Home Premium x86 (32bit) | Re: can't access system icons No, he actually means when right click start menu bar, and clicking properties. It will go to a screen. Here's a pic of it attached. If you noticed for me, I can't check off power since I'm running a desktop computer, so make sure you have a soundcard with the proper drivers installed  That fixed my problem last time.  |
