| 32 | Can't Share internet HI! i have two laptops using vista (home edition), i want to share internet using wireless ad-hoc network, but when i set up this network it doesn't show me Share internet connection. it worked the first time, but since then i can't do it anymore i have the ics enabled please, if u know what might be the problem please help. thanks. |

| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: Can't Share internet Hi MiniMini, and welcome to the Vista Forums ![]() How are your pcs set-up with regards to the network? are you using a wireless router? or are you attempting to use one PC as a access point for the other? To use ICS you will need two network interfaces in the PC providing the service, if you can post back some further information as to your (proposed) set-up will try to provide some pointers . |

| 32 | Re: Can't Share internet thanks barman58 for ur quick reply i have dsl internet connection on one laptop. and i m trying to share this internet connection with the other laptop, using ad hoc network (using one laptop as access point for the other). the problem is that when i create an ad hoc network it is suppose to ask me share internet connection but it doesn't (it only say network is ready to use , and to share files open network and shaing center...) thanks, |

| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: Can't Share internet As ad-hoc networks are designed as temporary networks between two wireless laptops I would advise you set up a more permanent solution. if you connect the laptop to be used as host to the dsl connection (wired) and then run ICS wizard on this machine to set it as host. On the other laptop it should be possible to run the network wizard to set this up to use the wireless network you have created using the Host as the access point. basically what ICS does is to set up two networks and links them together the one connects to the internet and the other to the local computers. have a look at the MS article here ...
