Vista - PC drops from Network (momentarily)

My home PC, running Vista and wired to the network, drops momentarily from my home network and looses the connection to the network printer. Usually happens when I click a link to a new page. An error comes up saying something like "page unavailable". I hit "refresh" and the page loads. I can sit at the PC and watch the network Icon in the system tray show up with a "red X" and then the red x disappears. The interesting thing is that my two laptops run wirelessly and wired to the network with out an issue. I am guessing it has to be something with the settings off myPC ethernet card? I tried updating drivers, but no new driver was available. Any suggestions? Thank You.

Try this;

Check in the device manager on the network card properties under power management and ensure that the "Allow the computer to turn of the power to this device" is set to disabled.

In addition, have you checked for updated drivers?

Have you *thoroughly* scanned your machine for malware? I suggest Malwarebytes.org as an *additional* method of scanning...

You may also want to check the Ghz your router is running at.

Eg:

the phone in my house uses 2.4GHz and My Router uses 2.4GHZ so everytime the phone rings the internet disconnects.
